LO3 Synopsis

LO3 Synopsis

The start of our documentary will be the exposition. This is the hook of the documentary, where the audience will be most interested and want to stay and watch the rest of the documentary. Our exposition will consists of a montage of images that will show different things like violent games and how they have affected our society. After the montage of images we will have a few video clips that are from movies that will show the violence in movies and how violent they can get. Over all these images and videos there will be a voice over from an interview with Quentin Tarantino. This voice over talks about how movies have violence and how it is craved by people nowadays and how all movies need violence to get more views. After the montage of images and videos we will have the interviews with the normal persons. They will answer our interview questions, giving their own opinions on things like whether children have easy access to overage games and movies. We will then have our focus group that we held with some students to discuss some of the events that have occurred due to the influence of games and movies. The next interview will be with our gaming expert who will talk about how he thinks that he does not really understand how people are affected by gaming. After the focus group and interview we will show actuality footage of the different events that have taken place due to the violent games and movies. An example of this would be footage of a movie release that involves violence. This is when a certain movies has its premiere where the actors are showing off the movie that they are in. We thought that this would be appropriate for the documentary because it shows how violence can be promoted to the general public through the liking of just a film.

Later on we decided that we should make the start of the documentary more professional. We were told by some students that we could use a software that could show all the images with different transitions and make the montage of images more interesting. this software is known as Animoto.

As we edited our documentary and filmed more scenes for the documentary we thought that some of the content that we initially thought would go into the documentary might not actually be possible or relevant like the reconstructions. We did not add this in the documentary because we did not have the specific requirements to make any of the reconstructions that we initially thought of adding.
